Great show, but plot hole...(minor spoilers)

didnt the guy that spit phlegm at his enemies die twice? in episode three he's about to kill nenki but gets attacked by hotarubi's butterflies and then ambushed by the other Iga. Hotarubi also stabs him a bunch of times when he's down and even says she finished him off, so he is definitely dead. Then when the Iga warriors go to manjidani to ambush them or whatever, he leaps at them spitting phlegm everywhere, good as new! Only after Koshiro finally cuts both his arms off and makes his head explode is he gone for good. But what's up with that? I just finished the show and i figured it'd be explained later, like Tenzen, but it didn't. So can somebody answer my question?

ah, i see my question has already been posted, but still no real answer...what's going on with this guy?

It was the right answer in the other thread that it was a relative. I checked the novel and Kazamachi's relative doesn't show up. In the Manga however he does appear, Koshirou says, "Shougen Kazamachi? It can't be. Must be one of his Kin!"

More evidence from the Manga. The scroll is shown at the beginning of each volume apart from 1 with the names of eliminated fighters crossed off. Shougen dies in Volume 1 and his name is crossed off. The attack on Mangidani is in volume two when the guy appears, after Shougen is confirmed dead. In addition if you look at the faces you can tell they are different. The relative looks younger than the one that is killed by Hotarubi. The second Kazamachi doesn't have a beard and has more hair on his head than Shougen Kazamachi. In addition there is no scar on his head or any marks that indicate that he was hacked away at.

I hope that answers the question in full, the Kazamachi that Koshirou killed was definitely not the Shougen Kazamachi who was killed by Hotarubi in the forest.

Another thing I could add that confirms that the ninjas on the scrolls didn't necessarily have abilities that were unique to the clan is that both Genosuke and Hyoma had the Basilisk eyes. Shougen was the only spider man on the scroll but that doesn't mean he was the only spider man in the entire Kouga clan.
