Was this originally planned with a standard narrative and no v/o?

I saw this the other night and whilst it wasn't really my cup of tea, it had some great dust ups and was pretty well put together.

I was just wondering if it was always planned to have the jumping time frame narrative (and the voice over) or was that a decision that was made during the making/editing of it?

I liked the jumpy narrative like Memento/Kill Bill... but also like the Taken/Steven Seagal style of the wife/daughter/brother/postman's cat is killed in the first 10 minutes.

Did you plan the jumpy one originally? Or just let things happen and see what looked best?

To answer yoru question... yes adn no.

The structure was always with a VO and a little jumpy parts in teh structure but when we put together the first cut we didnt think that there was enough dramam or action in the first 30 mins. So we played around with tehf ilm and came up with what you see now.

The VO was always planned but the style came from having someone like Doug Bradley for the role. Originally it was Ryan's VO but Doug didnt fit that so we changed it to more of a story teller.

Hope this answers the question...
