Can People Really Be So Morally Bankrupt?

As I listen to these soldiers explain/justify their behavior, you have to ask yourself how people can be so morally bankrupt that they are willing to torture a human being so easily without question.

These soldiers may have been your average, decent citizens back in the US, but what made it so easy to mistreat people to the extent of physical, psychological damage, and in some cases, death? Weren't these soldiers the average employee before arriving in Bagram and now they're so-called expert interrogators?

How anyone would believe these frail farmers could be part of this global conspiracy is shocking.

It's 10 years after the Iraq war and even Bush has admitted the war on terror had nothing to do with Iraq. How do these soldiers feel about the torture they imposed on their prisoners in Iraq and Afghanistan?

Maybe the reason a majority of the soldiers now suffer PTSD is they can't come to terms with the unspeakable acts of violence, indecency and inhumane acts they imposed on people whose crime was being unlucky enough to be born in the wrong country.

This is why people go through bootcamp - to break them down so they'll do whatever you tell or suggest without question.

Morally bankrupt is just a construct we, human, have come up with. Your own primary presidential candidate Mr. Trump supports enhanced interrogatoin methods, and even worse like he has said. So these programs will continue nicely, nothing will change.
