A very interesting film. Do they realize they made a horror movie?

This was very well done and an intriguing premise. The intercutting between the news footage of Bush in Chicago and the fictional pieces was essentially seamless and it was hard to tell what was real and what was not. The film makers deserve much credit for their skill and cleverness. The plot is a bit thin, as was the back story on the characters, still a good piece of film making.

But thank God this was fiction. If Bush had been assassinated and Cheney had grabbed power it's hard to even imagine what happens to the US. Not only because of the Patriot Act III, but IV, V, and VI. This makes the police state of Orwell's 1984 look utopian compared to Cheney's America when he unleashes the military and the NSA, CIA, FBI along with every other three letter enforcement agency. Perpetual war in the Middle East, dissent is crushed, activists are hounded, public safety net gone and privatized, environment trashed, the rich get really rich and everyone else is out of luck and likely drafted to fight in some Eurasian hellhole. The thought is scary. No thank you, I'll take Bush all day long over a President Cheney.
