Plot:A competent detective, Keiko Kirishima, encounters two mysterious suicides. Somehow the two incidents seem to be connected since the victims dialled the same number '0' with their cellphones just before their death. Then one of the victim's wife who was sleeping next to him, testifies that it looked like someone was attacking him in the dream. Keiko and her colleagues visit the reference room, looking for a clue to solve the mystery of the two suicides. There, they found information about a man, so-called 'Nightmare Detective', who can enter one's dream. Keiko asks him to cooperate with their sting operation but is bluntly refused. The murder's riddle is still unrevealed and later on we even found out that he holds the same power to slipping into people's dreams. Though a direful ending is already expected, knowing there is no other way out, Keiko approaches the truth and decides to dial the deadly '0' by herself....

That sounds horrible. Still, if anyone can make that plot into a good movie it's Tsukamoto. Here's to it being better than his last two films.
shareHe is back ... the worlds greatest director alive today.... will have to disagree with you pollygene... his films just get better and better.... more mature, more intelligent, and with greater depth... (although i still love his early films ....!!!!). The plot does sound terrible but he never disappoints... even Gemini, his studio film (along with hiroki) was outstanding...
he keeps threatening to do a US film which im not into but if anyone can do its Tsukamoto .... Tetsuo III in America anyone ?

I've got the Italian DVD for this movie (with both original audio and dubbed Italian audio). There are some significant differencies in the dub translation compared to the English subtitles.
Like during Zero's induced flashback when he remembers the death of his sister, in the English subtitles she screams "Teacher!" while in the Italian dub it was "Daddy!". Now I assume the English subs are more trustworthy, all the more since in Japanese she seemed to scream "Senpai!" which is indeed teacher, but I wanted to ask you guys here if your versions have it as teacher or daddy.
Well, looks like the english and the italian were incorrect there. Sensei or Shisho (sp?) is teacher. Senpai is someone elder to you, or an upper classmen. I guess they translated like that because it's hard to find an english equivalent.
