shareThis was one that really surprised me. I remember when it came out and was in a lot of "bad movies of the year" lists. I had never planned on watching it until it came up on TV and I just let it run. I am a red blooded American man and the posters of Anna Faris in this role and dress were VERY interesting. I admit it, I watched it for Anna, but thought that the story and the acting was very good. I bought the DVD and enjoy it for some "guilty pleasure".

The problem is that the screenplay is literally a '90s reject.

that actually explains why it does feel like a film slightly out of step with its era.
i still think it's a legitimately fun, silly movie. not a classic or anything, but it's goofy & goes down very easily & i'm happy to watch it every few years whenever the mood strikes.
I JUST READ ANNA FARIS' BOOK...SHE IS VERY PROUD OF THE FILM.
