A Guilty Pleasure

I had heard of this movie when it came out and how it made so many "bad movie" lists and never was interested in renting it or watching it. However, you have to admit, the promo pictures of Anna Faris in this role are ...... ahem ..... very interesting. I am a red blooded American male and she was SUPER HOT!!

It came on TV a couple of years ago and I just turned to it and started watching it. It was about 15 minutes into the movie and I was really laughing at it. Sure, Anna is possibly one of the hottest chicks that I've ever seen in a movie, but her acting was very good as well. She really played the "dumb blonde" role very well. I'd seen her in a couple of movies and in "Mom" and really liked her, but she really was outstanding in the role of Shelly. First of all, she was 32 in real life, playing a girl who was supposed to be 27 who really looked about 22. Then, she played the "dumb blonde" role so innocently and with a very sweet heart. She acts like she has been sheltered from the real world, and she looks at everything with the innocence of a child.

Of course, what she wears catches your attention, but as you get into the plot, you begin to feel guilty in your initial thoughts of her and how others have taken advantage of her because of her looks. How many men had used her for her looks and sexuality and had never really found a nice guy like Oliver. Of course, you really root for her and Oliver to get together. She deserves someone like him.

This is one of my "guilty pleasure" movies. Of course, it is not a "classic" film and will never supplant Citizen Kane, nor Gone With The Wind for story or acting, but it is a bit of fluff that is enjoyable.
