Why was Sarah cockblocking John all the time?

Srs question. Every time he tries to bring a girl home for a visit, she is always confronting him, telling him now is not the time, etc.

She even got very jealous of Cameron and was annoyed that she was walking around with only underwear.

I normally like Lena, but in this series, she looked and sounded like a grumpy old lady who is cockblocking his son all the time.

But when she needed it, she didn't have a problem having a relationship or taking a "detour" to meet Charlie. She is such a hypocrite.

LOL

I thought it was obvious why she cockblocked him. If John ever had a girlfriend he would put her in jeopardy. Terminators would not hesitate to use John's love interest as bait to get him to fall for a trap. It would also put him "out there" which would make him exposed and would be easy picking for the terminators. The best defense against the terminators is to keep a low profile and not give them a way to find out where you are.

John is a human being though .. with human needs.. so of course he's going to go against his mothers wishes to stay abstinent. He's a TEEN boy, so multiply his need for a girl by 20!

You might say it's safe to *beep* Cameron since she already knows he's there and knows who he is, but Sarah did not want John to get too attached to Cameron because is in her eyes, she's nothing but a machine.

I know what you mean. But she did it for her selfish reasons IMO. Because if she truly wanted to protect him, she should have left him alone just like Cameron said one time in towards the end. John is better off alone than her. But Sarah didn't agree to it saying "What kind of life would that be?". Well the kind she is already living.

As a kid fair enough, she can protect him. But nowadays John is much safer without that woman. She made so many mistakes and put them in danger. Even Cromartie said she made so many mistakes.

She definitely shows signs of an old annoying woman. Acting on her own without knowing what she is doing.

Like she immediately went to John's room after he took Riley upstairs. She is trying to see what they are doing, etc.

Also Cameron said one time she knows that John has needs if I remember correctly. So I think she knows that he can use her for that. In fact this is much safer because the person in question is a machine so can protect herself way better than any human. So no compromise for him to protect another human, which wouldn't be weakness in this case.

I think John being with Cameron sexually would make him more self-reliant.

A.) Because the show was written by crappy soap opera writers.

B.) Lena was miscast as Sarah Connor.

C.) John would have been better off banging Cameron, but then the writers wouldn't have been able to continuously perpetuate the soap opera atmosphere of the show.

D.) A rotating panel of hot actresses who were potential love interests for John in the hopes that said hot actresses would attract the 18-34 young male demographic.

Memories, you're talking about memories.

reply

That's why John needed to go to a Massage Parlor that offered HAPPY ENDINGS.

reply

because josh friedman is a idiot, and he controlled the writing as showrunner.

reply

Quite aside from the fact that John should be doinking everything in sight, a damaged teenage girl (Riley) with negative zero self-esteem not giving it up to any guy who produces the right combination of vowels, consonants and cheeseburgers is completely unrealistic.

All the clumsy moralising, and poorly grafted-on attempts at "good" 1990s Beverley Hills 90210 parenting are also painful to watch.

A vibrator is "just a machine" too. 

That is my answer too. Yes, the writers made Lena like a jealous hag which she is not in real life. She is actually kind of a goofy free spirit.

The writers should have had Lena INSIST that Cameron take care of her son's urgent hormonal needs. The kid was pretty stupid as the future leader of the resistance. He kept being the most gullible person in the universe.

This show would have NEVER tanked if they had showed Cameron "servicing" John.

The Japanese have made real sex robots that not too far from Cameron who is pure sci-fi.

I will never forgive the writers for screwing up what COULD have been one of the best shows on TV. Lena Heady was NOT miscast. She was just misWritten and misDirected!

reply

Sarah just wanted to shag John herself.

reply

Or, maybe she wanted to shag Cameron herself.

reply

All joking aside, it was because she didn't trust Riley, didn't want John's identity compromised, and didn't want Riley to get involved for her own safety. And with Cameron, well, there's no surprise why she didn't want him to get involved with a terminator.

reply

Because Sarah is a racist.

Cameron servicing John would have been the best option, however, it was never explained whether or not she was an anatomically correct model.

I just got to say the idea of sleeping with Cameron is just weird. She's a machine. It's just too weird.
