Chris Nolan said this film partly inspired 'Inception'. Can you see the links?

In addition to Paprika, Nolan also copied a Scrooge McDuck comic by Don Rosa, I kid you not-

I liked the way this movie handled dreams a lot more than what I got out of inception. This movie was an 8/10 for me. many scenes, I thought were reminiscent of Akira.I think the influence in certain scenes is really obvious. Good show Good show

IT is a great book

The biggest connection is not just that they are about entering people's dreams, but they both use this idea as a metaphor for the power of film to change the way people think.

There are several links but they are completely different. I would say Inception is 90% original.
