Maybe it doesn't take much to scare me, but I screamed three times. Enough to have my husband to come to check with me.
I watch so many movies that I overlook the bad acting if I'm interested in the plot/story. I love mysteries and this one fooled me completely.
I didn't think the acting was bad in this one. I had watched part of the movie once before and last night decided to try for the whole thing. I was falling asleep at first, not due to the movie, but it became interesting. I liked how the audience is led from assuming that the lodger is the killer, to wondering if it might be the husband, and then the main cop. By then the audience really has no idea anymore and that's good mystery filmmaking.
I like Alfred Molina and Hope Davis from other movies and that helped get me started. Especially Hope Davis. 😜
I agree. This movie drew me in. Great cast. Filmed on a very low budget. Not a strong script, but an interesting mystery.
