Kim Cattrall

Was anyone else completely amazed by her performance? She was so good in that role, especially towards the end of the film! I completely bought ever look and every word. I had no idea she was such a superb dramatic actress!

She was very good in this movie, since Kim has good acting skills in a drama film and was moved by her emotional and powerful performance, espeically when she was grieving over Jack's death.

What was amazing about all the performances was the portrayal of the British propensity to manifest a "stiff upper lip" under the most horrendous of circumstances.

Hey, Wicked! I remember you from the Jane Eyre board.

I, too, was amazed by Catrall's performance. Who knew? In the first moments of the film (not knowing a thing about Rudyard Kipling and his life) I thought she was doing the worst English accent EVER, but quickly realized that she was using an American accent because she was American.

What a coup it was for her to score this role. It really shows her range and talent well and couldn't be more different from her Sex and The City role.

As a lifelong Kipling fan, I knew that Carrie Balestier Kipling was an American. But I thought Cattrall's accent was ridiculous: she sounded like an American trying to sound like an English actress trying to sound American. All those overemphasized "er"s at the ends of words...she was great in the role, but couldn't they just have left her accent alone? (And yes, I know Kim Cattrall was born in England and lived there a while...)

I thought she did a great job.

I read an interview with her in which she stated she has been a huge Kipling fan since childhood, and so this was a real thrill for her to do.

The two parts that got to me:

1. when she was going through Jack's clothes and started smelling them.

2. when the soldier is telling the story about Jack's last moments and they were intercutting the flashback with the reaction of the family. Then, without audio, she mutters "Jack". We didn't have to hear it, we could just read her lips and her eyes. it was as if she was watching him go down. beautiful

She was amazing in the role of Caroline! I'd never seen Kim in anything else but light, comedy films. The was a welcome surprise, and I was just totally surprised and blown away by her performance. I didn't notice anything wrong about her accent. . . .I was too concentrated on her acting ability.
