This has to be the worst Scooby Doo ever

The animation is just bad the stories are moranic to say the least and worst of all whoever is doing Shaggy's voice just doesn't get how it is supposed to sound. It comes out like Charlie Brown doing a bad Casey Kasem voice. Just annoying.

I hope it will be over soon.

Haha, I think it's funny that this is the guy who voiced Red Herring in "A Pup Named Scooby-Doo".

I know it is, but Scrappy was a horrible idea as well.

reply

Scrappy was an irritatating idea to say the least. But yes, this is even worse than that.

Yea I have to agree. I still dont understand why they canceled whats new scooby doo. Now The Mystery Inc. No longer exists b-cuz once they cut off whats new scooby doo, they cut off the gang, possibly forever. I loved all the scooby doo shows, and I dont care what people say, Scrappy iz awesome!!! One things for sure, I do not like this one. Dr.phibes iz just a cheap spin-off that hanna barbera used b-cuz they couldn't think of anything else! That really isnt fair! I wanna see the gang again and im afraid that this iz probably the last scooby-doo show they'll make. I gtg now. Im going to watch my old scooby-doo dvds so I can get the filth of this new series out of my eyes. I am disgusted.

reply

Okay, I don't really hate this show. I think it has it's moments. But I do agree with a lot of the posts here. I mean, "What's New, Scooby-Doo" worked. Why didn't they just make more of those. Also, I don't know why Casey didn't voice Shaggy when he is around to voice Uncle Albert. (Most likely because they didn't want to make Shagg a vegetarain.) Well, I'd write more but I'm kind of busy now. Later.

reply

I can't agree more...

I love it i must be nuts

reply

I'm with you. I think the show is hysterical. I love Agent 2 and Dr. Phibes. Robi cracks me up too! Give it another chance.

reply

yeah its a step up from the usual stupid scooby doo.
the op is the one who's nuts

I just was flipping around and caught an episode of this. Absolutely awful. I can't stand when the protagonist bumbles along and the villain is thwarted by completely ridiculous circumstances. But I'm not the target audience. I grew up with the original Scooby with Fred and his ascot. I dug that as a kid but it's pretty stupid now. Scrappy-Doo was the worst ever, but this show is garbage. When Shaggy pushed his remote control and his kayak morphed into a snow mobile I knew that was it. Casey Kasem will always be Shaggy. This guy surely is not.

reply

Well I guess Im one of the few that thinks this show is pretty good.

Shaggy's voice is decent enough IMO.I dont mind the gang being split up,I think its cool to see Shaggy and Scooby veture out on thier own being that they were the "scare-dy-cats" of the bunch.

Dr. Phibes is kinda funny too me,and I like all the new modern technology Shaggy and Scooby use...I especially like the new Mystery Machine.

Storylines are ok,but they have enough funny moments to carry it through imo.The only thing I dont really like is Scooby's beedy eyes..its ok for Shaggy but Scooby looks kinda wierd with them...ehh Iv kinda gotten used to it.

I'm getting the feeling that this started out as a completely different show with original characters, but it wasn't as easy of a sell. Familiar characters = easy marketing, more money for the big guys. Bummer...

I started out not liking my favorite characters in this new setting, and I still kind of am...but without the gang and in this new setting...they end up only being characters that...look like Shaggy and Scooby (and even then, not that much. Perhaps the design was changed for this reason), but act completely different and are thrust into situations that would never happen to the two in any other show...it helps.

This show's more fun when you pretend it's not Shaggy and Scooby...perhaps the show would be better if the viewer disconnects them and appreciate it as its own series in its own universe.

(I'm not replying to anyone in particular, but I just felt like throwing reassurances out there...and I didn't want to start a new topic. Sorry for the intrusion.)

Well, ça c'est 'The Meaning of Life'.

I'm a hardcore, lifelong Scooby fan. Despite the annoyance I've developed toward Scrappy, I'd watch an episode of "The Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show" if it came on. I was a little disappointed that they returned to the men-in-masks formula on "What's New, Scooby-Doo?" (after the awesome straight-to-video films that featured some real monsters), but I still loved that show. However, I've found this series to be completely unwatchable... yet I've tried on numerous occasions.

I can forgive the bad Shaggy voice, the weird, cheap animation, and the absence of the rest of the gang. And with a villain named after one of Vincent Price's best characters, Dr. Phibes, this should be right up my alley. But there's something horribly wrong with this series, and I can't put my finger on exactly what it is. Maybe it's, as someone commented above, that it's not a Scooby-Doo show; it's another series that they've shoved Scooby and Shaggy into and tried to pass off as a Scooby series. Aside from their laziness and penchant for eating, these characters don't resemble Shaggy or Scooby, physically or otherwise. It's perplexing for me because I want to like it but I don't.

I have an extremely high tolerance for bad shows and films. I'll watch a movie that I hate right through to the end, looking for some redeeming quality. When it comes to TV and movies, I adore the ignored and the hated. I've tried watching this show 7 or 8 times, most recently this past weekend, and have become so annoyed and/or bored with it that I really don't think I've finished an entire episode. And if I can't make it through a whole episode or find something, anything, redeeming about it, that speaks volumes!

This show has it moments, but I think it would have been a lot better if it has nothing to do with the "Scooby-Doo" franchise. You could tell that "Get A Clue" was supposed to be a completely original show until someone wanted to add Shaggy and Scooby to the mix. Come to think of it, the show feels more like "Inspector Gadget" than "Scooby".

"What's New, Scooby-Doo" is better than this.

"Real wrath of God type stuff...."

reply

Not a fan of this show either, but it's still better than "The 13 Ghosts Of Scooby Doo".

The thing I hate this show the most is the rest of the gang (Daphne, Fred and Velma) are not in it. It's like having a music band reunion with three members missing.

Instead we get superhero gimmicks and not so great character designs. There's not even any ghoulish creeper mysteries.

"Real wrath of God type stuff...."

reply

Surely the worst Scooby Doo was the Scrappy Doo era. Nothing can top that for crappiness.

reply

I grew up in the 70s and 80s and i love all the original scooby doo cartoons. Scrappy was stupid but other then that the others were great. The whats new scooby doo and this show are just wrong.
This is just horrible and the way they redesigned scooby and shaggy is wrong as well.
It was wrong to update and change this show. I hate when they take a classic that has worked for years and change it.

reply

I love "What's New Scooby-Doo" because they still kept the classic person-in-monster-mask formula. It still loyal to the old-school Scooby.

But I agree that "Get A Clue" sucks.

Get a Clue is awful, with terrible animation, honestly Shaggy and Shaggy looked like aliens, laughable dialogue, and the characters jsut weren't likeable.
