Anyone know what the status of the show is?

I kinda happened upon the series one day and found it very interesting, blazed through all the episodes and what not. But what happened? Seems like they shut down production a few episodes into season 3? Since it's been so long, guessing it's been unofficially cancelled, but anyone know what happened?
