i like your username Liquid but this movie is not anything close to an 8. Movies like The Departed or The Usual Suspects deserve an 8. This is just a crappy version of Superbad.

This movie is nothing like Super Bad, and it came out before that movie anyway. I liked it, thought it was in the vein of American Pie but more like lesser known teen comedies like Trojan War, Dirty Deeds or Can't Hardly Wait.
I think pushing numbers for rankings is far more complicated than just giving one movie a universal number. For instance a comedy that's a 6 is going to be completely different than a drama that shares a like number. That's why the imdb ratings need to be changed. As far as what this movie is trying to do, which is make you laugh, it is at least a 6 in the comedy department. A "4.1" screams of too many people who tried to take a silly comedy about getting a shot with the girl of your dreams on Senior Skip Day, far too seriously. They are not trying to make art people. They are going for giggles.
sunrevolt i actually find your idea for a new grading system for their specific genre to be a very good thought. This movie is like Superbad, and every other movie you listed but just worse. I didnt laugh at all in this movie, the main character is a Ryan Renolds hack and even could even pass for his real life brother. Everything in this movie just seemed cliche and already done with *beep* editing and writing that was making me cringe. I'm never this critical when it comes to teen comedies but this one was straight to video for a reason. And that reason is because it sucked.
