Movie from 2008

Not new. I first thought it was set in a different time period because umm Flip Phones?? Then I saw it won 2 awards in 2008 at film fests. It's pretty cheesy. The main actors face kept making me think of play-dough. The Sasquatch costumes? Really? THAT was bad!

I assumed they set it back 2006 or so based on the fact the movie makers needed to smash up a car and a used car would be cheaper to smash up. So they set the movie around the time the used car would have been new. But. Yet. Good observation. This thing has been on a dusty shelf for years before being released.

The Sasquatch costumes were not bad at all if you paid attention to the plot. If watched the movie, you'd know the Sasquatch theory was that they were actually humans who had been living primitively and inbreeding for hundreds of years. They would have been wild and all *beep* up, but still human. Their clothing would have been animal pelts and looked to be probably bear. In that way, I think they were pretty spot on realistic. The film also uses the classic technique of showing the "monster" in only limited shots. This doesn't have to be only from budget, it can also allow the imagination of the viewer to kick in, which in my opinion can be more fun. I personally thought the creature scenes of the movie where pretty scary.
