The people they set her up with were horrible. They were ugly and couldn't hold a conversation if their life depended on it. And these guys were the best of the best. The Jewish girl was doing her little sister a favor by shaming their family so they could never use that system. In the end it was the Muslim friend that set her up!

shareI don't think they showed the matchmaker correctly. First of all, they have hundreds names and not fifteen. Usually they have candidates in other cities. And, most important, they would tell a lot about the family and interests of the prospect way before the youngsters meet.
There is no chance that the same girl would be suggested to meet with a recent immigrant from Ukraine planning to stay in Kolel for awhile and a businessman, even starting.
If all matchmakers were like that they would make no money.
