It is kind of hard to believe that a woman married to Michael Vartan would cheat on him witha man old enough to be her father, unless she was trying to get something else out of him,money, an important job, something where she was using sex as a bargaining chip.

Second, just because he looks great doesn't mean he was great. It's hard to have a marriage with someone who is so involved with climbing the corporate ladder, the Club, the kids and, ahem... his co-worker. Even if James never laid a finger on Katie, its apparent that the interest has long been there and I truly believe that the Walkers had a three-person marriage long before Walter Storrs set his sights on the Mrs.
Third, did you ever think that perhaps she was just looking for someone who had time for her? Or that maybe she wanted to be "the other" woman for a change, tired of competing with James' work-wife?
I'm not saying that I condone the affair, but I do believe her actions are understandable - and not necessarily motivated by sometype of financial or personal gain. She has money with James, she has a house, she has the kids, but maybe she was looking for something more... like affection, interest... more than just James' words and late hours.

That's the basis of my original query. Of ALL the people to have affairs, the CEO of a large company is the one who has all this time for her, who also happens to employ her husband? REALLY? lol

You'd be surprised by the number of fans who are unable to separate the actor from the characters that they portray and take the slightest comment against the character as a personal affront to the actor.
However, I wrote this because on another board, there was some confusion when people were using the actors' names instead of the characters, i.e. referring to Wendy (as in Moniz, the actress who plays Stacey) and the character of Wendy, Karl's wife. Without the complete context, after much replying and cutting and pasting, mistakes can be made.
The character nameson this show are very chi-chi and it's just easier to talk about the characters referring to the actors who portray them.

I thought it was perfect. They're level headed and didnt let their passion overtake them. I'd be ok with them continuing to explore their feelings and not jumping in to bed too soon. Once that happens its all downhill from there. No IR relationship has lasted very long on TV. If they keep teasing and flirting, it will go much longer.
