This show was a poor mans Mad Men.
Yea I said it.
I've never seen the show myself but when I read about it, it just struck me as a knock off of Mad Men.
It's funny when one popular show pops up, there will be at least 4 - 5 copycats trying to cash in on the same ratings.
No comparison between the two. Mad Men is a classy show, made with patience and elegance. This one could have been nice, but it's made in a tacky way trying to be funny and oh-so-meaningful at the same time, but being neither. Decent script, lousy direction.
shareExcept it is nothing like Mad Men. I couldn't finish the first 6 episodes of Mad Men.
I'm sorry I don't speak computer-ebonics, please type in English.
Same with me. I hated the first few episodes of Mad Men and couldn't understand why the furore. But it really really picked up with Season 2. You can just start there if you broadly know the characters -- which you will with the first two ultra-slow and faux-noir episodes of Season 1. From Season 2, it'll have you by the short and curlies.
Big Shots was a terribly produced program. More for the average suburban American male. With all its wannabe music, scattershot editing, and oh-so-cool quips. Lost me somewhere in episode 1.
