A member from the ABC messageboards has started a petition for saving Big Shots.
There are close to 500 signatures, but we need lots more.

shareI wish I knew somebody who watched this show. I seriously don't no anybody. I'm probably the only one in my town that watches it! So I can't exactly get them to sign the petition but maybe my friends will even if they don't watch the show.
shareOverall I think people are sick and tired of the networks canceling show before they ever get a chance so some might just sign because they know what it's like when their favorite show is canceled.

guys you would need some 5 million signatures...and in the end it only mattes what Peter Roth and the brass who front the money think of the show...and from what I have seen...they dont love it...sorry

shareYou have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. When we were getting a petition for The Agency we were told by people who work with the show you need about 10,000 or more for the networks to look at it seriously not 5,000,000. If you were to put a petition for Grey's Anatomy I bet you couldn't get 5,000,000 signatures and look how many viewers they have.

Last week's ratings were UP and so we have a chance of keeping the show on, but we have to keep showing support.

share8.5 million is not the average of viewers this show has. It didn't even have 5 million viewers this week! Sorry, but this show is getting cancelled and a petition won't do anything. Period.
shareYou honestly don't know that a petition won't work. for all you know, this petition COULD bring the show back. i mean, come on, look at Family Guy. That show was off the air for, what, 2 to 3 years and Fox FINALLY brought it back, after the fans really pushed for it.
So, you never know, this petition could very well be what brings Big Shots back!
Oh, and btw, the signature count is up to 2113 now :)
i am sure people can appreciate your enthusiasm....but it will never happen. this show is done, production has locked it up and turned the keys in....and it is over as far as I have seen. it got worse and there is not anything written and ready. Even if they came back by feb 6th they would not have anything to produce. So sadly this show becomes a victim of circumstance....not quite good enough numbers and a writers strike. :(

If you want an indication of how well a show is doing, dont look at ratings. Just look here at IMDb. Compare the big shot board to the board of one of the top shows and you'll see the difference...
Animation is quicker to do? I doubt it.
And you can't compare Big Shots to the top-rated shows. That's like comparing Gossip Girl to American Idol. Both are on major networks (Fox and the CW, and yes they are both major networks even though they really shouldn't be), both are considered successes, but American Idol gets like 25 million viwers and Gossip Girl gets like 4.
Now I realize you said not to focus on the ratings of a show, which may not be the most accurate way to see a show's success. But looking at internet boards is an even worse way to compare two shows.
Let me clarefy. When I say quicker to do, I ment for the actors. The situation for the actors who voice Family Guy and the actors who do Big Shots are of couse very different. The big shot people are more famous and more likely to get another job quickly or perhaps ven during the strike. The family guy people are mostly voice actors and may work else where, and again their involvement on a show probably doesnt take more than 1 day or so pr. episode, so they can do it even if they are working on other projects.
Thats also why it wasnt a big deal to bring it back, its why they can bring futorama and whyyou cant really bring a live action show back once it is gone...So all I was saying was that just because it worked on family guy, it doesnt mean it will work here...
I was number 2895 to sign the petition. I hope ABC doesn't cancel yet another great show. I was pissed when I found out that Traveler was canceled.

i also signed petitions for traveler (still can't believe they cancelled a great show like that!) and the black donnellys but it didn't help although those petitions had a lot more people signing it.
there a some awesome shows getting cancelled but maybe thats why i like them - you can't get bored if there are just some episodes. take prison break for example, season 1 was nice, season 2 still worth to watch but i stopped watching it at the beginning of season 3. maybe it would have been the same with traveler.
Its a real shame if Big Shots is cancelled. But like you I am normally a 2 season watcher of any show I might be interested in I get bored after that. If Big Shots survives I would like it to be a 3 season show - so that it goes on a high (even if it has had a rocky start!!).
Big Shots had a hard show to follow up and not the best time slot to do it in. Central time was perfect but East Coast time was a little on the late side. I really enjoyed the show and am very upset that I will not be finding out what happened......please bring it back.
shareThat's what ABC does. They keep putting on great shows like this, then air them for one season. Couldn't they at least keep the fans happy with straight-to-DVD episodes if they're going to take the shows off the air? What I don't get is why they cancel great shows like these that are easy to follow, and keep Lost(still a great show) which raises millions of questions every episode, and by the time they get around to answering those question, a million more come up.

shareYeah, like someone said, ABC always does this. Now that they got Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy, they have much higher standards when a couple years ago they'd be kissing the ground for ratings like Big Shots has. I read that they want to cancel Woman's Murder Club, when it's been number one in its timeslot for every episode except one, when it was at number three, and it's ratings are decent. I don't watch the show but it makes me angry that ABC would do that.
