Why would the queen sound regal?

As we saw the queen was chosen from the people. She was not brought up in royalty and from what I could see the job didn't require that the person uphold any type of social standards but be a gentle and kind person and take care of the forest. People say that Beyonces voice didn't fit the story but we didn't know the queens background. She could have grown up in a separate part of the forest with people who spoke like her and was chosen to be the queen when the past one died. I think they chose Beyonce to show that the queen was just as normal as the people she was protecting. She wasn't any better nor was it necessary for her to be. I think Beyonce did a fantastic job. She didn't need to change her voice. I think her own personality reflects what I thought the queen should be. She was flirty and kind and soft and her voice was like honey. Hearing people say that she sounded like she would be someone giving your order at McDonalds and garbage like that just sounds ridiculous. I know plenty of extremely intelligent and successful people who speak the way Beyonce does. I'm not a fan of her but I was pleasantly surprised to hear her voice in the queen.

She was perfect for the role. And I love that the queen didn't have to be all regal and proper. They had it exactly right. :-)

She sounded like she was just reading off a piece of paper.
I didn't feel any emotion coming from her voice at all.

That's people's main issue.

I agree that the queen was not a regal sounding person, and she shouldn't be. My feeling is that in having Beyoncé voice the queen, we don't really hear the character of Queen Tara. We hear Beyoncé. Beyoncé being Beyoncé. The character of Queen Tara is completely lost because Beyoncés personality is so overpowering. We see Queen Tara, but we don't hear Queen Tara. I think if they had someone that was not as well known or recognized by her voice, it would have been better.
