Ripoff of Ferngully

Does anybody else see that? Somebody shrinks, makes friends with the little people that live in the forest (including talking animals), fights against a "dark force" that wants to destroy the forest, gets big again at the end. I think the only possible thing that makes it not so bad is that they were both made by the same company, but still..

Yep we said the same thing

I couldn't get through Ferngully. Liked this better so if it's a ripoff they did it well.

-nods- i just watched a trailer for Epic and thought the exact same thing. I came to the message boards wondering if I'd been the only one to make the Ferngully and Epic connection. I guess not lol, but yes, total rip off.

reply

No.

Epic was about the magic of the forest and the balance/imbalance within nature.

Fern gully was a libral sob story about man and his distraction of nature.

Not a copy. Not a ripoff. A better story.

Destruction

reply

Totally agree!

~I'm not bad I'm just drawn that way~

reply

This wasn't the preachfest that Ferngully was. Here, there was nothing about how humans are destroying the environment.

reply

More of an improvement, really.
This movie is miles ahead of Fern Gully

reply

Yes, yes it is.

reply

A vastly inferior ripoff, yes.
