What happened to this game?

After playing through decade from start to finish last week and the week prior I went and bought C&C3. I was a bit shocked. Generals was a nice improvement over the previous games and it seemed every game was an improvement. The graphics are great on CC3 but the gameplay is lacking. It seems like a new company took over and this seems more like a knockoff than a westwood made game. I'm not upset I bought it, and it is pretty fun to play, but nothing near where generals and RA2 are.

I hope when they make another one they'll include some of the better features that generals included.
