Wow, this movie is only 6 years old and it’s already forgotten

None of the characters or subplots in this movie matter anymore. I can only imagine how bad this movie will age in the next 10 years.

The Battle of New York or "New York Incident" has not been forgotten, and is mentioned in various Marvel Cinematic Universe works. Soon though, it will be forgotten thanks to Mr. Thanos and *snap*

reply

Yeah, it's not like we just had the third movie in this series make a shit ton of money with a bunch of hype for the next installment.

Besides that, with so many whiners crying about this movie, there will always be a few people out there who will make sure no one forgets it.

reply

I have an answer to this. Many (not all) comic book fans have short attention span.

reply

It's not forgotten. It has endless sequels, and gets TV play. People know it exists.

You want a forgotten film? I was watching a figure skating competiton yesterday and one of the skaters used a song from "Burlesque". That was a film I had looked forward to seeing back in the early 2010s, and I had completely forgotten that it existed.

reply

nope, still holds up, still great.

reply

Sarcasm is a daily thing but many still forget it exists ;)

reply

Too many poop jokes

reply

Yep, humor has gone to shit!

reply

It's a mildly entertaining but forgettable two and a half hours at the movies. Not the kind of movie that stays with you. We've seen so many of these sorts of movies now, and this is about average in quality.

reply

That's how all of the MCU films are; they're the most hyped thing in existence until the next movie comes, and then nobody ever mentions it again. People were foaming at the mouths waiting for Captain America: Civil War, but I haven't heard a single soul mention that film since its theatrical release.

reply

Thats because most of their movies have their stories extend to other movies, civil war was a prequel to infinity war and its story ended in endgame, people talk about the mcu as a whole and not just their individual movies the same way nobody talks about the individual movies in harry potter or the lotr but rather them as a whole

Most people consider Fellowship of the Ring the best LOTR film by leaps and bounds. Likewise, The Prisoner of Azkaban is said by most fans to be the best HP film. Not sure about MCU movies... Guardians of the Galaxy? But that wasn’t exactly on the same level.
The Marvel movies people will remember most will be Raimi’s Spider-Man, or the first two X Men.

"The Marvel movies people will remember most will be Raimi’s Spider-Man, or the first two X Men."

I actually agree with this. Decades from now, 40,50 years from now. I think these movies will still be remembered for how much they stood out at the time they were made. The MCU is just another boulder on CGI Slog Mountain.
