Ok this might be just me and my DC/Snyder-loving-fanboy-ass talking right here, but after re-visiting this movie I just noticed that The Avengers looks a lot like TV-movie. Bland, boring, nothing visually interesting. Ok you get few cool shots here and there but every other time it just looks very boring, and its not just The Avengers its basically every Phase 1 MCU movie. First avenger has horrible and very noticeable green screen, Thor has every scene shot in this weird tilted angel and The Avengers looks like boring made-for-tv-movie. I'm not talking about the stories which if we are honest are repetitive in the phase 1, but are ok. So sorry if this sounds like I'm hating the MCU and being just biased DC-fanboy, but to be honest the newer movies like Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man are actually good movies. But so you could hate me even more I would say that I think Iron Man 3 is the best Iron Man movies out of those three :)

Yeah Iron Man 3 was totally the worst. I still like The Avengers, but one part always made me cringe. Why the hell does Colson tell Captain America that Banner is reality smart like Steven Hawking, then when the Cap obviously doesn't recognize that name Colson forgets Einstein existed? Even today Einstein has far more name recognition than Hawking. Did the idiot writers forget Einstein existed, or did they just assume today's audience would seriously not know who he was? Also there was that ridiculous crap with Colson threatening the Russian general, which is ridiculous because Russian airspace is protected by the S-400 antiaircraft and anti missile system which can vaporize anything in the American arsenal. I figure the writers probably aren't up on global weapons tec, but forgetting about Einstein is unforgivable and makes any complaints about Batman V Superman (which I loved BTW) beyond laughable.

Because Coulson is human and in awe of Cap. It simply didn't pop into his head to say Einstein.

Colson threatening the Russian general, which is ridiculous because Russian airspace is protected by the S-400 antiaircraft and anti missile system which can vaporize anything in the American arsenal.

Could it do that to anything in SHIELD's arsenal? 

any complaints about Batman V Superman (which I loved BTW)

And what explains what about someone liking an intelligent film like Batman V Superman? A lot of people liked it. Only the idiots who were too stupid to be able to follow the plot had issues with it. That says more about them than the movie.

He mentioned Hawking's name and Steve looked at him with a confused look. He didn't "remain" with Hawking - he simply said 'a really smart guy' and that was it.

Really? You know this to be a fact? Would you please link me to that fact? I'd be interested in reading this fact because SHIELD has it's own air-force and Coulson said, "I've got a..." It would seem that he was talking about one of SHIELD's birds. But, if you've got a link to where it was most definitely only a US military airplane with no advanced weaponry or stealth tech I'd love to read it.

No one had problems following the plot of BvS - it just sucked. I liked MOS well enough and was excited for BvS, but sucked. And trying to pass it off as "intelligent" is laughable.

Really? But you apparently had no problems with the suggestion of there being a "SHIELD Air Force" with their own contractors for specialized equipment one would guess developed in an alternative universe since we are to believe that the US government doesn't have access to any of that. Never mind the fact that absolutely nothing in any of the films, the Agents of SHIELD TV show, or the comics supports anything that delusional and crazy. But no, it was MY comment that was the one that was somehow off? And you were what exactly, hibernating for the last several months which is why your reply took so long? Well guess what champ, you can go back to sleep. Because you waited all this time just to make a fool of yourself. And to get blocked/ignored. Good luck and good bye, chump.

I thought this movie have aged poorly once I re-watched it after it was available in HD. It kind of worked for me the first time, but it didn't for the second time. The poor script and lack of depth clearly hurts the experience for me. Granted, this movie wasn't made for me, so I understand that. Civil War is still the best Avengers movie in my opinion.

This is how I know the Avengers IS a good movie (and still holds up). After all of these years, the best attempts at tearing it down still revolve around the way it "looks" or nitpicking.

The Avengers is by no means a perfect film but it did/does do one thing incredibly well. It makes you root for the heroes to come together as a team and WIN. It's just that fvcking simple.

You can drone on about your green screen and why this one didn't do that at this particular time but, love for the Avengers isn't built on world class CGI (even though it had that) or every single, minuscule plot detail singing in perfect harmony. Love for the Avengers the movie (and subsequently the team) is built on something that is less obviously conscious. Dare I say the SATISFACTION it brought to audiences is damn near primal. It's the pleasure of siting around the camp fire and being regaled by a story that you invest in because of its familiarity and warmth - not to mention all of the weird and disparate elements that come together to somehow provide deep enjoyment and gratification. Yeah, "I'm bringing the party to you".

You can't discuss this film in an honest or credible way if you won't acknowledge any of these facts.

We all know that the upcoming Justice League film will have a better technical IQ than the Avengers. They may even manage to get the story and characterizations mostly right. We might even smile once or twice. Still - Zack Snyder and co. will be damn lucky if that film is half as rewarding as the Avengers.

That's a pretty big leap in logic you're making there. I've butted heads with people on this very board about political issues but whom I agree with on movie issues. Just because I agree with the guy about this movie (and his BvS review) doesn't mean we agree on everything. And since I've never heard him speak of Iraq war veterans, the only one I see calling them mindless fascists is you. But I guess you can provide me with a link to said statement.

That's nice, I don't know who that is. But according to you I need to google her, since I obviously support her too.

EDIT: I actually googled her real quick, and after two minutes of reading a summary on Wikipedia about her and the equality causes she stands for, I now support her too.

But this leads to an interesting point, apparently you don't support her. May I ask why you have a problem with equality for women ?

Pretty much your choice of words on the matter and the fact that you called it uninspired in the first place.

It's a brilliant satire of a troll post. You see, in posts by actual trolls, those exact words are always an indication that the troll didn't understand what people have called a "childrens movie" (despite scenes of eye-gauging and impalement, but that's a separate issue), the irony of which you've captured perfectly.

Stating that a movie which is mainly a character study built completely around interpersonal conflict has "no conflict between the characters" was a nice touch. But adding that it doesn't have a story, when every single character's story arc could be a movie in itself, now that's a satirical stroke of genius.
