This Is Exactly Why Marvel Is The Major Leagues

and DC has been relegated to the minor leagues...

Not only is it funny but it's something for the Nolanite trolls that somehow can't leave this page to watch and get even angrier about.

It obviously doesn't matter to most people because if it weren't for the trolls no one would even be talking a DC film here but maybe giving the hateful and jealous trolls a single place to vent might be helpful at this point?

Go at it!

I agree, and look who else joins them in the minor leagues http://www.bleedingcool.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/boys44.png
Its a familiar face, can you guess?

What about this news then?

Disney has cememted Marvel's major league status. Dish Network and Disney are reported to be very close to agreeing on a new carriage deal. Part of the terms would include Disney dropping its lawsuit against Dish over its Hopper DVR service. The two companies have been operating under a short-term distribution agreement since September.

Media analysts will be tapping sources to find out what Dish is paying for ESPN. Pay-TV operators have been protesting at the $5.00-$6.00 per subscriber range, but probably don't have the leverage to prevent another increase. Wells Fargo sees the rate rising above $7.50 over the next couple of years, while others argue the bundled channel model falls apart at some elevated level.

This is all good for Didney's bottom line which, in turn, is great for Marvel's operating influence.

That's fascinating, though no-one asked, but I think your comment from the 40 Year Old Virgin board last week was still more interesting:

9 in 10 adults over 40 have a lovelife that's all in their heads. Fantasy is the only way to survive stuck with the same person year after year.
Very honest of you to open up like that, bibleboy.

Through it all I still know quite certainly that just to be a Marvel fan is a grand thing.

During Disney’s Q1 FY14 Earnings Results Webcast, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that Captain America: The Winter Soldier will tie into both Avengers: Age of Ultron and the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series.

The fact that there would be a tie-in between Captain America: The Winter Solider and Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is another great example of Marvel's major league power.

Iger also praised the Captain America: The Winter Soldier film, mentioning that he had seen it several times. “I’ve really been impressed with the early buzz that we’re seeing for the Marvel films,” said Iger. “Captain America is just huge."

All hail the KING! I’m not saying this to egg on the Distinguished Competition but most people rate Marvel’s Avengers a true 10/10 masterpiece and THE best comic book movie ever made. It is as close to a perfect movie as you can get regardless of the genre. I’ve noted before that Superman had generally held the title as most fondly remembered or nostalgic superhero film even though it has some campy flaws. Spider-Man had generally held the title as most beloved superhero film because of the character and the time it hit. X2 had held the title as the most technically sound and highly rated superhero movie. Iron Man had generally held the title as best all-around superhero film. Thor and Captain America jumped in and added their own unique flavor but I can honestly say that Avengers tops them all in every single category. It is shear perfection on every level. It’s smart, intense, well acted, thrilling, fun and superbly done.

Marvel Studios will produce 60 hour long episodes for Netflix, starring characters such as Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones! This will absolutely crap on stuff like Smallville and Arrow. Just another example of how Marvel being top dog and the bigger brother.

This documentary specifically states that Marvel is what adults graduate to after they outgrow DC as a child. It's only gotten worse over the past ten years with Marvel Studios stepping it up so huge.

And who doesn't remember that mentioned if they watched that documentary?

If The Avengers did anything, it proved that there are more than enough fans willing to pay for a Marvel film to justify a billion-dollar box office take. Iron Man 3 drove the point.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier could be the superior MCU installment. So here we go again!

The involvement of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a big plus as is the early buzz on the film. We get another treat in a few weeks! All DC is delivering are laughs every week if anyone cares enough to tune in to "Arrow" and laugh at that CW kiddie mess.

reply

Arrow is very soapy but the action is pretty solid. They edit the action sequences really well.
