U.S. Release
Ok, does anyone know the U.S. date release? I hear this is causing some roar in Russia.

shareI'd have to disagree. This was not a good film by any stretch, but it had a lot of shock value. It is like a Russian Silence of the Lambs, only you have to sit through the first half hour before the real story even starts which is annoying about many films were the writer obviously didn't know what direction the story should take. In part this is because the director was trying to add superfluous material to critisize the old communist system, I think. Frankly I thought the movie was terrible but extremely shocking. The multiple rapes were very disturbing. The movie was very frustrating to watch because there is no attempt at any sort of justice. Its just rape, murder, rape, murder, torture, murder and not a single redeemable character.

If you are going to call the old system "disgusting" ("the death of one disgusting system" as you put it) than you are critisizing the old system by definition. Your point is a distinction without a difference.
Furthermore I don't think film is limitted to a dichotomy between a "stupid thriller for our entertainment" and an incoherent shock fest. Much of this film could have been salvaged with some good editing and development of the characters or subplots.

yea, I wonder where you can buy a dvd with english subtitles
share"The multiple rapes were very disturbing...very frustrating to watch because there is no attempt at any sort of justice. Its just rape, murder, rape, murder, torture, murder and not a single redeemable character." - that's pretty much the description of Soviet government.
"I think DVD's the only option. Even in Russia the total gross was something ridiculous (like $137 000)" - check the data before saying something: $137 000 was the opening weekend. Total was $570 000, which is very good for that type of film!
You are a total idiot.
