Main drawback to Helvetica (the typeface itself)

is that the upper case "I" and lower case "l" are virtually identical. Thus the design world has been flooded with ghastly "asterisk" fonts...

I'm old fashioned enough to want to believe that educated, intelligent readers will not be thrown into a tailspin by the presence side-by-side of an "I" and an "l." "Officina" does not extend its readers that courtesy, and neither do a whole lot of contemporary fonts.
