Billie Piper's TEETH

What the hell is going on with her TEETH?! I know she always had a sort of wide mouth, but in Mansfield Park it looks as if she has really sticking-out beaver teeth as well, almost as if she's had bad veneers which are too big for her mouth. It's even affecting her speech!

reply

lol ye i have noticed that aswell lol she was brill tho!

I know, what was going on with that? She could barely close her lips over them.

My boyfriend said, 'She's always had that attractive ape thing going on around the mouth, but I'm sure they weren't that big in Doctor Who.'

reply

Her whole mouth scenario was driving me crazy throughout. That and the thick black eyebrows with the blonde hair.

She should never have been cast as an eighteenth centuty girl. She was a complete anachronism.

I didn't realize that nobody before the 21st century had big teeth. Thanks for enlightening me.

Although I realize it's catty, I do have to admit that I found her teeth to be distracting. They are rather large and in charge. I honestly believe that if the adaptation of MP had been better, I would not have been paying so much attention to Ms. Piper's teeth and eyebrows. I've liked her in other programs, but I was disappointed with this tele-film.

reply

OMG, enough with the teeth already. Just accept the fact that not all ppl have great teeth.

Yup, it's true. I am a faithful McAvoyer

reply

'Attractive ape thing?' LOL

I'm afraid to ask for more details!

You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope

reply

I totally agree. Oh GOD! WTF, her lip protudes because of those terrible buck teeth. Are those veneers??

Billie Piper is so pretty, and one of the things that help this is her quirky looks. I loved her teeth! They made her smile look so genuine.

Or maybe that was just Billie.

I agree, very distracting. Her makeup artist was a joke.

This thread made me laugh.

I completely agree!

If we think about it, if she had been an early-19th century girl, her teeth would most likely have been worse. They didn't have orthodontia and they didn't have caps or veneers. Even the richest people had bad teeth.

reply

Her teeth was definitely distracting throughout the whole movie...

reply

I think if you need to complain about someone's appearance on screen, we MUST be out of things to talk about.

I'm just sorry they bother everyone so much. They're just teeth, for God's sake. I've seen worse.

reply

Yeah, it distracted me off her speech and acting. It's too.. "out there"! And, hahaaha, ape-like? *nods profusely* And that eyebrow too.

I was completely distracted the whole time...I've never seen her in anything else, so I thought she just looked like that...and I began to wonder why they would cast someone with such gawd-awful buck teeth in a romantic role.

And then when she smiled her lip shot up over them and they stuck out like Bugs Bunny.

How horrible if they're veneers...didn't someone behind the camera or in the studio SEE what was wrong with them?

Good grief! After some of the hideous teeth we've had to look at over the years in the mouths of other English actors and actresses, Billie Piper's teeth were a most welcome sight, IMO. Firstly, Piper's teeth are actually white, and secondly, there are no gaping holes in her smile. (Does anyone here remember the teeth on Mrs. Thorpe in the 1986 Northanger Abbey? Yikes! She looked like a horse with a missing tooth!)

reply

I kept expecting her to yell "here come the Daleks!"

And don't flame me but I have often wondered is the profession Orthodotist represented at all in England?

reply

To answer your question, yes it is.

Her teeth did seem more prominent. But I thought her acting was just fine.

I watched this last night on tele (I'm in Australia). Billie Piper's teeth were extremely distracting. I was wondering if she'd done a stint in America and visited one of those celebrity dentists while she was there (killing two birds with one stone?). I know I'm going to get shot down with venom for this, but why is it so many American actresses seem to have so many (and such large) teeth that are so unnaturally white (I do know that Billie Piper isn't American; it's just something I've noticed over the years with American actresses in particular)??? Gawd Almighty, when they smile one almost needs to wear sunnies LOL The male actors don't seem to have the same problem though. The females seem to somehow have really large mouths with lots and lots of teeth ....

I wasn't overly impressed by this version of Mansfield Park and Billie Piper seemed too 21st Century, imho.

reply

I think the problem was not her teeth but the way the director shot it. The way this was filmed just overemphasised her teeth - they were never as bad on doctor who. She can't help having teeth like that (well she could look at some braces) but it's the director's fault for not manipulating the shots in such a way to hide her teeth - instead of shots that emphasised them

It's never over, all my blood for the sweetness of his laughter

Most people in America have white teeth. It's just the way we're brought up (in America from the age of your first tooth you have to visit the dentist every 6 months), to have anything but white teeth is unbecoming.

reply

White is fine, white is nice, but why oh why do they have to have such H U G E teeth - a Clydedale would be pleased to have such enormous choppers :-)

reply

If you're talking about someone like Hilary Duff then yeah her teeth were so big she had to go back and get them filed down. For whatever reason people think that veneers are a good look and they can be, but most of the time for people go to dentists that don't know what they're doing and give them teeth that are too big for their mouth or don't match with their face. That's shotty craftsmentship on the dentist's part. Or who knows maybe those fools are asking for teeth that are too big for them (like women who choose breasts that are too big for their frame).

About Billie, I think she's fine. As someone on another Billie board described it, she's the quintessential English Rose, horsey teeth and all.
