Dracula for the Big Brother Generation

I have an idea. Seeing as people aren't very intellectual or imaginative anymore, why don't we show them that the metaphor was for Syphillis rather than letting them strain their brains to work it out?!

AAAARRRGH! TV Execs drive me mad. Great opportunity badly wasted. let me get out my Louis Jordan version to calm myself down!!

and when was this magical time when everyone was so intellectual and imaginative???????????????? if only everyone was as smart as you..........oh well

reply

wow nicely misunderstood! my point being that people ARE still capable of imagination and intellect but are force fed this rubbish by TV execs who treat us like imbeciles

reply

Doubly and triply annoying when the metaphor wasn't even for syphilis in the first place. Bram Stoker never contracted it, and it's a book about vampires.

Syphilis was NOT the intended metaphor!..
Vampires are "counts" (i.e. the Elite, high class) feeding on the poor & middle class.
They want wealth, beauty, and immortality.. but are corrupt morally, and have little faith!
(that was the intention of the blood-sucking vampyre genre anyway)

The "low" class have their metaphor in Cinema too.. It's the mindless Zombies.
