wow...how good was this film?
Probably 80% of the best films I've seen in the past four years or so have been Middle or Near Eastern, and this is in the top of that top group. If you're wondering whether to rent it, don't wonder--just do it. One of the rare films that has a feeling of actually getting better in the second half and accelerating to and ending more meaningful than you would have conceived earlier. Funny, tragic, heartbreaking, significant, wonderful. It's the kind of film that actually makes you angry at how bad most movies really are.
