The Offspring

whatever has a rock sound to it

Yes, but no sprinkles. For every sprinkle i find i shall kill you-Stewie Griffen-Family Guy

reply

I don't listen to anything. The soundtrack for the game is good enough for me.

reply

Yeah, the soundtrack's great, but I reccommend Godsmack or Metallica.

reply

EMINEM!!!!!!!!!

reply

yeah,i was thinking lamb of god.also ramstein, exodus, slayer, pantera, fear before the march of flames, mabey some buckethead.oh,and arch enemy.

reply

I just go with the soundtrack, but I found myself whistling "Billie and Millie" by Alice Cooper the other day while hacking up Undead Legionaires, and shoving swords down a minotaur's throat.

Sign upon the bloody line, drop of yours, drop of mine... nothing's free.

reply

Death Metal is NOT a good genre to illustrate epic scenarios. Sure, it's loud, but there's nothing substantial beyond that. Now a Bach Fugue or an operatic piece by Verdi, that is epic.

reply

I completely agree. Now, I like my hard rock from time to time, but I prefer a classical piece as well, like the classics O Fortuna or Ride of the Valkeries. Thankfully, the games soundtrack works just fine, it really fits the game.

reply

One of the best songs i found to listen to GOW II - Coming Undone by Korn.

although, when it comes to epic battles (spartan total warrior style) - Dawn of Battle by Manowar.

The Spirit of Vengeance

reply

That thing that comes with the game...what is it called...

Oh yeah, the soundtrack. It fits the game perfectly.

reply

True, but i do occasionally like to play through the game a second time, with a bit of variety. and Dragonforce/Manowar fits perfectly.

The Spirit of Vengeance

reply

Dragonforce or Rhapsody!!!!!

reply

I just wish they had the minotor theme song from the first game to the sequel for a boss battle but the soundtrack is all i listen to for now but i might hear NIN -HEAD LIKE A HOLE or Mudvayne- Happy if i get tired of just listening the epic soundtrack

I find that Therion's music from the "Lemuria" album is particularly awesome to listen to while tearing off harpies' wings and the like, especially the song "Typhon".

This would be the perfect song
Bodies by Drowning Pool

Now playing: God of War, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Dead Rising

reply

I didn't listen to music while I was playing it,but I would advise most songs from Linkin Park(maybe even some from System of a Down)...oh and The Man Without Fear by Rob Zombie would have been great too...

Nothing is written.

reply

i listen to the song sugar by system of a down or any thing from the mezmerized album

reply

Yeah, the mezmerize album had some good songs(perhaps BYOB is my favorite, although mezmerize never reaches the greatness of TOXICITY,the album, not the song),but I did not like Hypnotize much...the songs were too similar to the rest and I don't remember even one now...

Nothing is written.

I listen to the music playing on the game.

reply

When i played Prince of persia i listened to Godsmack.

When i play God of War 2 i listen to Godsmack.

Godsmack is the best choice. Especially the albums Faceless, Awake and IV

reply

Same here but my room mate was listening to Killswitch Engage and "Breaking The Foundation" came on just as a looooooong boss battle began and the guitar riff went so perfectly, lol.

No Sparkling Wiggles here!

reply

Twiztid (most of the albums especially "independents day")
ICP (only "Hell's pit" album fits it with the more metal sound and dark lyrics)
NIN (the song that is used on the 300 trailer works well with this game because of the epic feel)

reply

hell ya i forgot about twiztid

Here are some great albums to listen to while playing a non-stop shooting or action game:

Static X: Machine and Wisconsin Deathtrip

White Zombie: Astro Creep 2000

Rob Zombie: Hellbilly Deluxe

Powerman 5000: Tonight the Stars Revolt

Nine Inch Nails: Year Zero

Anything by Ministry

I like either some nice epic Power Metal - eg. Stratovarius, or some Gothic Rock/Metal - eg. Embraze, Amorphis.

But Power Metal suits it more. Limp Bizkut or however the f-k you spell it does not suit, cause they suck real bad.
