Just 8 voters (until today) from U.S.A. and 5 "2" and 1 "3". 6 horrible votes for this movie !!!

What's wrong with it ? It's perfectly acted, the story could be assimilated to the acclaimed "the best of youth", widely well-reviewed in US and not only there, and a daring effort to launch italian cinema overseas.

I can't believe MFEFU really deserves a 3,7 average rating. I mean, after seeing the average ratings (for U.S. users) for SOME movies I don't want to mention...

The film is now playing commercially in New York City and will surely get more favorable attention from the sophisticated audience here. I saw it this afternoon and thought it was excellent, as did most of those in the theater. It is really a good job.

Does anyone know when this will be released wide in US. I saw the previews yesterday. Best of Youth is one of my all time favorite movies, and I want to see this one.

"Mio Fratello e Figlio Unico" is really quite good. I was very impressed by the writing, acting, directing, and cinematography. Characters were written and embodied seamlessly, genuinely, affectionately, with more dimension to them than we find in any mainstream American cinema. There were many great camera shots: lighting, angles, timing, that one rarely sees in American-made films that also have the quality of story, momentum, and emotion. So much was captured here.

So, not all Americans are missing the real quality this film offers.
I will definitely recommend it to my friends who appreciate Italian, European, and
simply very good filmmaking.

I too was really dismayed more people didn't see this, or react so enthusiastically. In my city "Best of Youth" caught on and played at a theatre for the better part of a year, yet this came and went in a flash.

well, more than 2 years later, the US voters greatly improved their ratings... something to praise the Lord for. it was indeed a really nice film.
I think there should be an european film market completely apart from the US-market so that we (europeans) learn to enjoy our own productions.
IMHO if europe keeps on buying tacky horrible american movies, we're saying 'we love this and we want more!', enough with that. Quality is appreciated.

PS: La meglio gioventú was absolutely breathtaking. Loved it to its core!

Because the most of americans watch gun, explosion, action movies. As the fasicst in movie says "they were just zulu 200 years ago"
