Hello, this is the writer/director answering your comment. HER MORBID DESIRES is one of four segments from the feature film called THE BONEYARD COLLECITON, which will have a world premiere in Feburary 2009 in Beverly Hills. Thank you for your interest, sincerely, Edward L. Plumb, Irena Belle Films.

Ed,
So will The Boneyard Collection be released in theatres after the premeire, to the rest of the world, or will it be 'direct to video'?

Hello. It was made for cable and dvd. We did a local premiere in Beverly Hills in honor of the host, Forrest J Ackerman, who had passed away last winter. We expect to have the a summer release for the dvd. Thank you for you interest, Edward.

Cool - so it's made for cable, as in it will be on Starz, HBO or Cinemax? Can't wait, thanks!!

So can we expect a lot from Ms. Barbara Steele as well? ;)

Hello, thanks again for the interest in the film, which is part of the complete feature film called THE BONEYARD COLLECTION. The film is expected to be released this fall. As for cable we are waiting to see what the distributor will arrange.

Barbara Steele figures this will be her last film role. She is thinking of retiring and moving to France. We all hope this is not true. She's the greatest female horror star we've ever had.

reply

Oh, I'd hate for her to retire as well, but even if she moves to France, I would think that she could still find roles worth her time over there...? She really is/was something, it just goes to show you how quicky time passes us all by and before you know it, Poof, our looks, careers, lives are over with. It would be nice if a woman like Barbara could stay the same as she was in the 1960's, as if she were a Vampire!! Live forever and always look good! ;)

So, a theatre release titled The Boneyard Collection and then DVD releases, cable, etc. - I look forward to finally seeing this, thanks for the info, mpr!

This piece of garbage NEVER should have been released. It looks like it was shot on a VHS tape using a home cam corder from the 1980's. Producers / editors sped up the tape and dropped frames throughout the first hour (I could not watch any further) - camera pans and tilts are very choppy making the the video look very unsteady and grainy. The audio is flat and muddy.

Acting by all, mostly unknowns and a few seasoned veterans (read 70 and 80 year has-beens), is terrible. There are ZERO production values; some of the sets look like painted cardboard. It looks like it was shot in some North Hollywood garage. The first story, "Her Morbid Desires," is so embarrassingly bad that it must be considered the nadir of bad filmmaking. It is about young, nubile girls who are killed off on the set of a vampire movie by a harem of sleazy actresses who are real vampires themselves. Or at least I think that's what happened. The story is confusing and muddled. Within the first 30 minutes, there is an extended dance scene during a vampire's sacrificial ceremony that goes on and on without logic, reason or dialogue. The vampire chicks are shuffling about to some Gaelic folk band! And I do mean arm-in-arm shuffling some corny jig. Even the late Ed Wood could have done better than this.

I know that this video has sat on the shelf for a few years before seeing the light of day. I cannot believe that someone in acquisitions and distribution actually thought that this would ever turn a profit.

BE WARNED! I rated this a "1," but it really deserves a ZERO. The only value here is the plastic case that you can re-use once you throw away the disc.
