Sorry to have to tell you, but this has been filmed in Ireland, with Dublin standing in for Bath. On the up side, Persuasion is filming (or has been until very recently) in Bath.

and surely it's wrapped by now?

Filming in Bath has concluded, but I'm not sure if Persuasion is still filming elsewhere at this time.

This is going to be fun! I've watched the 1985 version of Northanger Abbey and the 1971 version of Persuasion and they give glimpses of Bath. Have not seen Vanity Fair but heard it was good!
How far away is London? Just curious. I could look it up I suppose but since you live in Bath, perhaps you could describe the journey?

bath to london on train is about an hour and a half, car its about 2, 2 and a half depending on traffic, they're sort of across from each other on the map, sort of. last time i looked anyway!! but its a really easy journey....
i am a bit sad about the filming, when's persuasion coming out?

To Cherry_ash1: The filming locations on Northanger Abbey lists Dublin, however, it may not be a complete listing. It's also possible that since both Northanger and Persuasion are both coming out in 2007 there may have been complications that only one production company could film there at a time.
I took a look at some of the fabulous pictures somoe people took while filming Persuasion. You should check it out. Maybe you can tell us where they filmed. (Streets?)

Scroll down and look for all the photo listings.

hey i took a look at some of the pics on the link you sent me. they're bacially all in the same place. all of the pictures with the columns you see are in the centre of town pretty much, the other pics i saw are also around that area. cant remember the name of the street but baths town centre is pretty darn small!! just central town really. sorry i cant elaborate. its one of the nicer bits of town, with the cobbled streets and the columns etc. thats very near the roman baths you may know of them or have heard of them, they're fairly famous., also about a couple of minutes from the abbey and right next to the new baths that they built that people can actually swim in.. also just opposite the pump rooms. only about five mins from the river.. roman baths, pump rooms all from the same time... abbeys older though!! its anice bit of town cos not many cars can go up that street!!
