Any sex related material in this show?

I want to watch this with my little sister, so i would like to make sure...thanks!

Nope. There's only a part when Catherine stands up in the bathtub in front of Mr. Tilney and you can see that she's nude without and "privates" being shown.

When was that?? I don't remember that part. The only part that I would consider even the slightest bit inappropriate for children would be the scene where Frederick and Catherine's friend are in bed together.

Maybe the tub scene was cut out of the version I saw.

If you watched the Masterpiece Theater version, you might not have seen it. I'm pretty sure it's only on the UK DVDs/broadcast.
But as for where in the movie it was...not sure exactly but it must have been after Catherine was reading the Monk but before she took that walk with the Tilneys because she mentions the dream to Eleanor during the walk.

Bloop.

There's a scene where Frederick Tilney and Isabella Thorpe have just slept together. She's wrapped in a sheet, but there's nothing explicit in this scene.

Why on earth would they cut that scene out!? You only see her back! Ridiculous!

Was that the US version that they cut? The copy I have is the Australian version (Region 4) and it's not cut. Also, the YouTube upload also has it in there.

The Masterpiece Theater versions often cut parts for time so they can fit in more commercials, I believe. This particular scene may have been chosen because it wa "racy", I dunno, but often they just cut random stuff.

PBS/Masterpiece doesn't ever show commercials during movies. It's due to their limited time slots to show the films that they cut scenes.

Come, we must press against the tide of naughtiness. Mind your step.

Masterpiece cuts everything that doesn't fit their time allowance. They had to cut around eight minutes or so from this production. The decisions on what was cut were made by the production company that made the film.

I suspect that they cut this particular scene out because it was seen as controversial. Not because Catherine is shown naked (albeit from the back, and in the bath) but because she's depicted reading the novel The Monk, a novel which most Janeites feel most strongly that Catherine would not have been reading, and because this scene depicts Catherine sexual-fantasizing (definitely not in JA's novel). In any case, I think most Janeites felt that this scene didn't really add much to the film, and in fact, the inclusion of it took away time that could have been used to include other more interesting scenes from the novel.
