Although I am busy writing a book right now(I ain't making this up), I am thinking of either writing a script based on the novel, set in contemporary times, or writing a movie adapatation of the book itself. Maybe I will try to do both. I'll keep you posted on which of the three creative choices I decide to go with.

You are mistaken. Austen has been dead for almost 200 years. All of her work is public domain.
