Anybody out there read the book this was based on? I have. Picked it out randomly on the library shelves a while back. Checked out this movie just to see what they did with the book. If anyone has read the book, why do you think the filmmakers didn't use the twist ending that was in the book?

Apologies for the delay. I didn't notice that anyone had responded to my post.
Anyway, the twist was that the entire elevator set-up was a reality TV show. It was no accident that those three got stuck on the elevator. The show's producers set it up. Obviously, it got out of hand in a way the producers weren't anticipating.

Ugh, that's awful. I much prefer the "normal" serial killer story they used in the film.
