Anyone else find the best episodes were those with a good villain like Darken Rahl or Denna? When it's just the heroes acting all goody two shoes it's boring, but Darken Rahl and Denna were the perfect offset to their blandness. In season one anyway. Season two Darken Rahl pre-resurrection is pretty meh.

To put it into thesbian terminology: it's the antagonist that makes the protagonist. If a story doesn't center around a strong, interesting villain or problem to be overcome, the story will lack heroes, regardless of what all else those same heroes might already have done.
That's why you can't expect to be successful in entertainment by being politically correct, like the producers of this show have tried way too much to be.
YUP!!! the overbearing self righteous airs of the heroes was insufferable. It only got good with the two you mentioned were on, and when Cara finally joined their group. I actually enjoyed watching her transformation.

One of the unmentioned prophesies has to do with with Richard's given name - Raken Rahl. Richard is immortal as the old sage Neil Young said "Raken Rahl can never die".
