I would like to watch this again...

well...
i went seeing this film,
knowing very little
about the films background...
except that it was some type of
murder/mystery type of story
revolving around the korean community in ny...
and OH Yeah, and that battlestar
galactica, grace park was in it...
but honestly, i wasnt really sure what to expect
outta this movie...
i tried to avoid wanting to know
others ppls reactions and responses,
so that way i can try to
formulate my own thoughts about it all...

and i thought it had a good story line
the movie turned out way different than
kangs other film, the motel...
which i guess shows an eclectic style
he has and his ability to do different
generas of films

and this particular type of film,
while on the surface, the storyline revolved
around a murder/mystery...
beneath its surface,
i felt it had many underlying themes,
twists, and spins to it...
underlying themes-- such as the sense of
feeling out of place,
wanting to belong and acceptance
when 2 worlds/cultures meet...
i liked the weaving in and out
of the korean dialogue that took place...
and the contrast of characters who
spoke korean vs the korean laywer who was
not so fluent...
and i feel the ending of this film...
is what makes you re-evaluate
the storyline...
the story not just a matter
of being a crime drama film...
but the individual characters...
and their self motivations...

and looking back...
after watching this film
and reading the director and writers
statements... i feel it makes the
film all the more of an interesting tale...
while this is a fictional story,
its interesting to know it was inspired
by a true to life crime story...
which makes me want to see this again...
