There was a movie called Empty Cradle years ago http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106808/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_27 based upon that story. In that movie Kate Jackson portrayed a nurse who pretended to be a home nurse to steal a baby after pretending she was pregnant. She also killed another lady in that movie to get her baby.

There have been several cases where women have been so desperate to become mothers that they have killed or attempted to kill pregnant women and steal their babies.
