Bloom Bloom?


I don't get it, is their surname Bloom? So is Bloom- Bloom Bloom? And if not why doesn't he get a first name like his brother? And where do they get Bloom from anyway?!!

That's exactly what I was about to say. If they are the Brothers Bloom, then their names are Stephen Bloom and Bloom Bloom. Also, if the Mario Bros are the Mario Bros, their names are Mario Mario and Luigi Mario. But at least with the Mario Bros, the older brother is the one with the same name.

Same here. I thought I must have missed something, but it appears I really didn't.

I just think it was probably an attempt to be deliberately enigmatic for no particular reason, which is pretty indicative of the rest of the film IMO.

Bloom as in the verb: to grow/mature, like flowers do. It was just a dumb play on words that actually hurt the movie more than helped it...

Agreed. I think the whole movie was an example of a lot of talent being wasted on a fairly pointless exercise.🐭

I remember reading on the movie's website or something under character bios that Bloom goes by his last name because his first name is embarrassing and he doesn't want anyone to know it.

Yeah they call me the Hiphopopotamus, my lyrics are bottomless..............
