Her hand? (minor spoiler!)

Maybe I missed this, but did the movie ever mention why Michael's hand (I think it was the right hand) kept hurting? Was it an old injury she suffered when that Burton guy kidnapped her? Or was it simply a physical condition related to her brain aneurism?
