question about burton (SPOILER)

Ok, I just watched this movie, and I am a little confused. Maybe I wasn't watching closely enough (although I thought I was).

Carrie Waiverly was kidnapped by Burton. He took her to his house on Franklin? Then he kidnapped other girls...Annie, Lisa, etc. He killed Lisa. He killed Annie. He left Carrie in the garage to die in the fire and took off. So, who was the man in the wife beater with the star tattoo on his chest? He was not the same man she visited in jail who hung himself? I would assume the man in jail who hung himself is the same man who kidnapped the children and started the fire. Then who was the man in the wifebeater who saved Carrie? If he's a different person, they don't even show him in the cast. So confused, but AWESOME movie.

I hope I'm not getting this wrong....... As far as I could tell they never say where the star tattoo man came from just that he was always after her. I believe he was a person who lived in the apartment building and heard the yelling that Burton was doing and the crying that Carrie was doing. Being a Ex-marine he did what any good person would do.( Just shows you should not judge a book by it's cover )He started chopping the door in to get in to help. Micheal was seeing him over and over again in her mind because it was "Her" that the man was trying to save no matter where she was. To alittle girl I'm sure having a gruffy man breaking in and saying "I'll get you first" can be very scary. In the scene where we get to "See" what happen. He was basicly telling her that he forgave her but still blamed Burton for what he did and would hurt him if he ever found him.**** she not knowingly blamed herself for his death because the man died when he went back to save the other little girl, Lisa. Who was died before the fire was started. But she was unable to tell him that due to the trauma she had gone through.****

The wifebeater was named Terrance Reed in the movie played by George Buza. He's listed 5th in the list from the top

I think ( if I heard and understood correctly), that when the reporter sent her the packet- with the next day’s newspaper), the accompanying note said something about Marines tattooing the medals they receive over the heart area of their chest. The man she had been seeing all along was that man, with the tattoos on his chest. And he was the Marine in the picture that the reporter sent her, along with the rest of the package. He saved her.

You may have noticed that the man she saw in prison looked nothing like him. he had different facial features and different body-type. At that point, you may have said to yourself, “ he looks different”. But like me, you may have let it passed, without saying at that point, that he was not the man in her visions

Yes, they are different characters and actors. The man who saved Carrie/Michael isn't credited. He looks a lot like Maury Chaykin - check out his performance as Desmond Howl in Whale Music and tell me what you think. Would like to know what others think as to who the mystery actor might be.

Why was Burton helping Carrie/Michael solve her mystery? Also, he got away with murder and another man went down for it? Now I'm confused.
