So she obviously didn't know her mother wasn't her birth mother... She never noticed that she had never seen her own baby pictures... And how long did her mom wait to take pictures of her because if it was within a year or two she would have seen pictures of herself and therefore recognized the little girl in the photo as a picture of herself...

If she had any pictures made after her adoptive mother brought her home, such as school pictures, for the next few years, she'd have recognized herself in the pictures she found.

Well I don't know if this will help but when I was a baby my parents did not own a camera. They bought one some time after my brother was born so there are many more baby pictures of him. Maybe Micheal's mother just said she didn't own a camera??
