Her Mom

Did anyone else think that her mom was just a tad overbearing with the constant telephone calls to Jessie?? Good grief, she was practcally calling every single day, and anyone knows that during your first year in college, life can be rough and hectic. Did she expect Jessie to just be able to talk to her whenever she called, including during her classes?? One would think that Jessi was about ten years old judging by the way her mom kept constantly calling her.

I'm a junior in college currently and I have friends who talk to their parents every single day, some even multiple times a day. I don't think her mom was overbeearing at all jessie says at the beginning of the movie that her and her mom are best friends. I wish my mother called me everyday just to talk.

:( I feel like I need a suit of armor just to post a message on these boards :(

I graduated from college in 2003 and law school in 2006 and and I agree with you... in college and grad school, I talked to my mom on a daily basis but that's because I called HER. She certainly wouldn't call me every single day, because she wouldn't want to bother me and because she knows that students need space. I understand that her mom was just worried, but she was also overbearing.

The mom actually got on MY nerves.

I agree with you, her mom was a bit annoying! My mom is extremely overportective at times but even she has given me my space since I moved out. And that's been quite a while ago.

Congrats NickiDrea for graduating law school. That's awesome! :)

I'm 23 years old and still live at home, but I went away for a month over the summer and I spoke to my mom at least twice a day for about an hour. We call each other. Some mothers and daughters have close relationships.

I sometimes don't read the bottom of posts because I think it's a signature.

I didn't have a problem w/ the mom calling, but found it strange that after she found out her daughter was drinking and lying, she basically didn't do anything for a while.
