Nothing to Like Except the Animation

Another poster called this boring, but i just found it completely unengaging.I am a major dog person so i can't tell you how disappointed I was. The writing was wooden; the story dull.

The protagonist was, except for loving Tulip, completely self absorbed, not at all charming or delightful or even interesting or bright, which, combined with a very flat portrayal of Tulip, made for a very uninteresting story. The continual attention given to poop, thoughout the film, was really rather weird, and indicative, i guess, of the lack of intriguing plot points. The only way i would recommend anyone to see it would be with the audio and subtitles turned off, so one could just admire the animation.

I'm with you, and I thought the part with the naked women and the bull was just plain weird. Really disappointing as I'm a dog person too and looked forward to seeing this.

It seems like you were probably expecting a different kind of film entirely - there was no reason for him to be charming, delightful, interesting or bright, he was just a lonely old man unable to build strong relationships with humans. There were no intriguing plot points because it was a slice of life film purely about his relationship with his dog.

I am a huge dog lover and got a lot out of this film and found it very funny. The film it most reminds me of is Bombon el Perro which likewise is about an ordinary middle aged man and his bond with his dog, and also one of my favourite films.
