I LOVE THIS SERIES

I just had to say it on here since no one else did.

Infact, I'll say it again:

I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH!!!

I'm sorta new to K-Dramas (I've only seen three: Kim Sam-Soon, Full House and tis one) and this one is my favourite!

:D:D:D

...Even though no one will reply... lol.

I would invite you to join me and my friends... but I don't want to.

reply

Someone is replying!

I had seen those two you mentioned as well. Same for this series. Quite funny!

K-Dramas had been all the rage for a few years already in Asia and at least you are catching on it.

reply

Woo! Thanks for replying lol.

Yeah apparently Korea is going through the same rage phase as HK fims during the 80's and 90's.

Let the rage continue!

I would invite you to join me and my friends... but I don't want to.

reply

I love this series too :) I'm also new to Korean dramas. I've only seen this and Love Story in Harvard (which is a really good series as well)

Wow. I had been wanting to watch Love Story in Harvard. My mother has the DVD to it. She has like quite a collection of Korean dramas on DVD.

'Treat each day as if it's your last'

reply

Haha yeah. Love "Story in Harvard" is really good but I like "Princess Hours" better. The only thing that bugged me just a little was all the blurs they did on labels and such. But I can live with that, hehe.
My mom's starting to go crazy over Korean dramas once she switched from Netflix to TigerCinema. She mentioned maybe getting "My Girl." I really wanna watch that :)

reply

i adore goong too! goong 2 (not goong s, which is a spinoff) is coming out late next year or early 2008, but so far only chaekyung and yul said yes. shin said no!!!!!! someone has gotta make a online petition.

My girl's really funny. you can watch it on youtube. that's what i've been doing.

~*~JEN~*~

reply

Yeah, I can't wait to watch that My Girl. But about the sequel, I heard it was going to be a totally new cast. It's going to be called Prince's hours, and it's about a prince going into the palace. There's a lot a speculation I guess:/ Who knows. It'd be cool if they kept the original cast though. Grrr Shin, hehe.

reply

reply

Wait - Shin said no?!

Boo. Lol. Well Yul's there so I'm pretty happy to go then - I'm a Yul supporter haha.

Yeah it would have been great if they had the original cast and have a different storyline though - I don't think they could do much more after Gung...

Have you guys seen Snow Queen? I've just started watching it on YouTube and it has good quality subtitles (something which doesn't come easily so it's really great!). It's pretty good so far, it has Hyun Bin (the guy from My Name is Kim Sam Soon) but I don't really like the lead actress - the way she handled some of the scenes weren't to my liking. Lol.

I'm going to see My Girl too! I started watching the first episode the other day! :D Is Love Story In Harvard good? I haven't seen it. Tell me what you think.

reply

I'd say Love Story In Harvard's good. Especially the beginning. It sorta gets a little (I stress the word "little") annoying towards the end, but all and all it's pretty good. It's funny when they talk in English though. The main actor is also pretty cute :D
I haven't heard of Snow Queen before. Is it good? The only Snow Queen I've heard of is this cheap american movie that's lying around in my house.

reply

Snow Queen is just airing in korea now. I think the first 4 or 5 episodes are subtitled in english so far (about 10 episodes have aired in korea now). I haven't started watching yet so I don't know what it's like. I don't want to start watching until it is all over and I can watch all together. I can't stand waiting for new episodes.

As for Goong (aka. princess hours, palace, gung) I liked it but I thought there was just too much crying. The last 4 episodes or so are just shots of one of the characters crying or at least looking pretty depresed.

reply

GoongS is the one that is called Prince Hours which is a totally different story. They're having problems with copyright and stuff, but they're still shooting it. GoongS is the one with Se7en and blah blah.

The real Goong 2 is coming out too later on. They're trying to keep the same cast except only Chaekyung and Yul said yes. Shin's agency said no for some reason. I heard something like the pay isn't high enough or he's too busy or something.

Anyways, i reallky hope that Ju JI Hoon (SHin) says yes cuz Goong2 wouldn't be Goong2 without him.

Oohhh, I see. Now I feel better now. Thanks for clearing that up :)

"I don't want to start watching until it is all over and I can watch all together. I can't stand waiting for new episodes."

Same here. I'm very impatient I guess. Meh.

Although the guy's outfits were weird - kind of metrosexual

LOL I KNOW! At first I thought they were wearing a girl's sweater at one point! I think that sometimes with the metro-wear (especially Shin's wardrobe) it ruins his look a bit. It's just that sometimes Shin's clothes were so ridiculous that it didn't compliment him at all and just made him look like a clown.

i love goong too! i've seen Kim Sam-Soon, Full House and this one for Korean dramas. i like the taiwanese ones too like devil beside you, meteor garden and it started with a kiss. hana kimi is really funny and good too. im going to start watching the snow queen next.

reply

OMG! i love it too!!! its the first k-drama that i've seen. i finished it this morning. a friend lent me the dvd! it just started showing here last week and i look forward to it every night even if they air it so late! even if i've seen the whole thing, im still going to watch the one on normal tv. i love love love love it!

iREALLY hope that shin says yes! i cant wait for the sequel to come out!
what other korean dramas do you guys suggest? funny and romantic, that sort of thing

reply

LOL I really love gung so much too: I'm re-watching it at the moment~

BTW I have a few recommendations for other k-dramas (I've only seen afew but I really loved them):
-My Name Is Kim Sam-Soon (It is a romantic comedy too, and is one of the most popular dramas)
-MY GIRL (HIGHLY RECOMMEND, I just finished watching it and I find it really, really REALLY HILARIOUS!)

Most people love Full House, and I do like it too but I think it's a bit over-rated. :)

Am I bovaad? Am I bovaad tho? - The Catherine Tate Show

reply

^^Full House was definitely a good show, but I only watched it because my Song Hye Kyo was in it and I wanna marry that girl! But, yeah, Full House wasn't as amazing as everyone said it was.

Sam Soon is a really good one, in fact it's probably in my top 3 favorite shows. Sam-Soon doesn't possess the beauty that otehr actresses nowadays have, but I found her just as lovable, if not more lovable than most heroines. She's outspoken and loud, old and overweight (in Korean terms I guess because I never once thought she was fat or old...). It's a not-miss kdrama because you'll regret not seeing it. I finally undertand why it was the highest rated show in 2005. It's so real, and even though the ending isn't very fairy-tale like, that's what I like about it. It was realisitc the whole time, so why not make the ending realistic, too? Plus, it left an opening for a sequel!

I just finished My Girl last Wednesday, and I enjoyed it very much, too. The plot was a little bit better than Goong's and it was much more fast-paced, whereas 24 episodes was just waaayyy too much. Lee Da Hae is very lovable, too. She's quirky, she's a liar, and she eats like a pig. What more could you ask for in a girl?

A recommendation from me, MISA. Watch it, or you'll regret it. I know why talk about a sad, depressing drama in a comedy thread? Well, it's just THAT good. The plot is terrific and the performances are amazing. The chemistry between the two leads are amzingly realistic, iin fact they beat out Song Hye Kyo and Bi for best couple! Must watch!

thanks for the recommendations!! ill get the copies of those as soon as i can :)
i keep on re-watching the part were shin comes back from thailand... it makes me swoon! hahahahahahaah

reply

Noooo! I hate that bit! Lol (I'm re-watching it too right now) I wanted Shin to feel bad after being so mean to her... He thought he was really good or something when he saw her so upset - grrr she shouldn't have been so forgiving haha!

Am I bovaad? Am I bovaad tho? - The Catherine Tate Show

reply

MISA stands for "I'm Sorry, I Love You." I think you guys should've heard of that show, right? It's such an amazing show, great script, great plot and great actors. Check it out!

What bout Gong 2? Is it related with the first one? I'll have to say that Joo Ji Hoon is the hottest one!!

reply

i love love love that part!!!! but i agree that she shouldn't have forgiven him that easily... my nanny asks me who i like better yul or shin. i always say that i cant choose coz shin's mean-ness and mysteriousnes are part of his charm and when he's jealous or when he's being caring, it just makes me melt but yul's kindness and sweetness makes me melt as well! hahahahahahaha i love love love them both! i cant wait for the new season!

reply

My Girl and Only You are also great..

reply

WHOA. That's a tough question.

Shin or Yul? It's the Great Debate!

Haha I have to say the first time I was a Yul fan, but the second time I watched it I really like Shin!

They're both really different:
Yul is like a softie all the way through - he's a deep and meaningful-er
Shin is like a rock (with a cushion tucked inside that you have to break to get to, but once u get that cushion it's heaven).

reply

I like Shin the best. I liked him since the first episode, although he was really mean. I like Shin's personality better than Yul's. Haha, I guess that's sorta wierd though 'cause he has a bad attitude sometimes.

Hey, doesn't Goong S air tonight? Man, I wish I was in Korea right know. But then again, that wouldn't help that much 'cause I don't speak Korean :P
I really want to see Se7en though!

reply

At first I thought I like Yul too, because he looks cute on the cover of the DVDs. But after I watched it, I started to like Shin, Yul is handsome but his mother is bad so I had bad impression bout him. Watching all these Korean drama makes me go crazy about going to Korea!!

I really want to see Goong S too, I wonder whether it's good or not... Hopefully it'll be on Youtube!

Haha me too! It's my dream to one day go to Seoul airport - all the kdramas have an episode there!

i want to watch goong s as well... i hope its on youtube! i can finally open youtube again... any new news about goong 2?

love shin to death!!! but... i love yul to death too! hahahaha

reply

I started watching Korean Dramas last year and I loved them!!! I realized they are short --at least some and I love the high school parts of it with younger characters! My first KDrama was Goong after reading a bit of the manhwa. I loved the first episode with amazing and adorable characters and hilarious scenes!!!! Then I started watching My Name is Kim Sam-Soon haha --my sister likes this one a bit more cause it's older in age, but I didn't see like the last episode so I need to get back on that. Then I watched some of Delightful Girl Choon-Hyang and I liked it! I need to finish it though. I'm going to start watching Full House and My Girl to see what all the hype is but they already sounds good so yeah.
I'm glad they have subtitles cause I don't speak or understand any Korean or any other Asian language except a bit of Hindi because of the movies I watched since I was a kid. I'm a huge fan of foreign culture, language, history, and customs so watching stuff like this makes me happy!

reply

I got into kdramas last summer, so I haven't seen THAT many yet lol, but happy to hear there are more fans coming out.
Sam Soon was a really good show, I like it more than Goong because it was more realistic ans Sam-Soon is just so darn funny!
I have Delightful Girl, but have yet to touch it, but I've heard good things about it, so I may start soon.
My Girl is an AWESOME one, it was also better than Goong IMO. The acting was better and the plot was a little more complex, and not just your typical "Nice poor girl likes cold rich boy." Definitely a must-see.
Honestly, do not expect too much from Full House. I watched it only because I am in love with Song Hye Kyo, but other than that the show gets kinda draggy and her friends just annoy the hell out of me. It is funny, but most of the episodes are basically the same and the plot moves too slow. Six episodes could've been taken out and nothing would've changed...

what country do you guys come from? :) hehe. just asking. so that i'll know which countries kdramas are hit.

For starters, kdramas have been a rage in my country (philippines)for years. but i've only liked and watched a few. and those are full house, wonderful life, kim sam soon and goong (princess hours). and so far, i have absolutely LOVED all these series. i've been bitten by kdrama bug. hahaha. anyways, goong is the only show i have the dvd in :( i can't find the others. anyway, bcuz of this, i wanna watch other kdramas. do you guys have any recommendations?? :)

reply

hey, cool! im from the philippines too! im watching love story in harvard now... its pretty good so far... still, nothing tops goong!

reply

Well I'm from Australia! Dunno if it's the rage in other cities here but it isn't really the rage where I live.

Has anyone seen Couple in Trouble/Fantastic Couple? I can't finish it. I haven't the motivation.

My mum and I have kinda lost the interest because we started off with watching THE BEST kdramas, so... There's kinda no comparison here. Hell, we went from Goong to 'Sang-Doo! Let's Go To School!' I can assure you we were disappointed (even though I was dumb enough to waste tears on the last episode, but that was after a marathon from 9pm - 6am the next day so, my emotions were a little skewed).

I love Princess Hours it so like Bridget Jones or Ally Mcbeal type of show. I hardly watch K drama because it so sad, but this show has Comedy. I'm so love Chae-kyung' and Shin there my favorite, the best part of the show it when Chae-kyung' and Shin are trapped and have to stay in the one Room for one night.

I love this show it was best show for 2006

reply

i cant seem to find it in me to keep watching love story in harvard... it was pretty good at frist but it cant top princess hours... maybe in a few days...

~`~i think i'd miss you even if we'd never met. (the wedding date)~`~

i come from malaysia.. anyway any fans of TVXQ (Tong Vfang Xien Qi)?? They're very famous korean singer.. I can't find anything bout them in IMDB..

Yeah, IMDb isn't that great when it comes to Asian entertainment. I looked up Vic Zhou and it only said that he starred in Meteor Garden. The best place to look is Asianfanatics or Soompi forums :)
