Last Cake Standing

"Last Cake Standing" challenges should be limited to seasoned cake decorators. It should be a chance for the "veterans" to prove themselves, not feature newbies that have never faced a challenge before. Save that for the other challenges.

I feel bad for Nikki from Texas in this (2011) series. Her frustration so far has made it seem as if she regrets entering the Challenge in the first place. She probably thought after the first day, I entered this challenge to show people I can make leaves from fondant?I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't come back.

I agree. I feel like Nikki was not prepared for it. She is also not suited to group work it seems. I understand the not wanting to make leaves but you don't have any assitants to make do that stuff and it needed done. Regardless of quality of work she was the weak link because she kept walking off for 5-10 minutes at a time.

Than this week she gets mad at her husband/assitant and tells him not to talk to her for awhile adn eventually leaves agin. In the middle of a competition you have to have communication, you can't go silent like that or jsut leave when you feel like it and expect to win. Was so glad to se her leave. Put no effort forth.

I have to agree with that. She wasn't showing good sportsmanship either.
On that note, only Richard Ruskell could drop his cake and still remain a competitor after that last session.

I agree with preppy that Challenge veterans should be the only ones admitted into the Last Cake Standing competition. They've had other challenges to get acclimated to the style of competition. Also we get to see the best of the best, plus our favorites, compete and hopefully a good outcome this way versus watching someone struggle who will likely not win.

I also agree jbering that Nikki's attitude was very off putting in both her stages in the competition. Whether she was an assistant or not, you can't be putting on those dramatics during the competition. It was just unprofessional, the assistant competitors on the other team didn't like the tasks they were being given, but they performed them without shutting down. These are things she could have gotten out of her system in a regular competition so we didn't have to witness them now.

What a dumb show.

The times I saw Nikki she had an all-around bad attitude, no perseverence, and no dedication. She may be a baker but she was a poor team player. Yes, no one appreciated her, but there was a reason for that. She should not have even signed up for this show when she was so obviously unprepared for the pressure.
