An amazing program with no respect for it's viewers.

An exceptional program from beginning, but not the end. This stinks of sponsors, producers and the like. We were disregarded in the same shappy way with HBO's "Deadwood", not even the cast knew they'd been cancelled. But I'd expected better of British productions, but they are following in their Masters footsteps it appears.

Amen! Just finished watching through it on Netflix and my reaction at the end was "bugger!" I had to remind myself that shows exist only for one reason, to make money, and if they aren't doing that, no matter how good they are, off they go. Not good, when something IS well done as Kingdom is, especially leaving the viewers hanging. I suppose the show is too small to have any fan-fiction sites that would continue the storyline, so we must use our imaginations and curse the system for what it is. Why is it that the drivel usually succeeds, and decent programs like this one don't make it?

So Disgusting.

Just watched Episode 3.6, it just isn't right! There needs to be a law against ending a show like this and/or the producers should have some respect for the viewers not to end it like this or at least release an article/statement to give closure.

I just finished as well and didn't know the ending would be so abrupt. The OP is right - the people producing this have absolutely NO respect for the views.

SHAME!!!

I am shocked at the small amount of comments for this series. Does no-one watch good quality wholesome shows anymore? If the comments section of IMDB is a reflection of the number of viewers I am not surprised by the cancellation but upset nonetheless.

Fry is always amazing and Norris no less. The cinematography was first class. I have only just found it am am sad that there were so few made.

I am still stunned at the lack of interest on the boards although being an English show I always expect less but this is ridiculous.

your anger is directed at the wrong target. its not the producers doing. (if they had no intention of continuing the series, they wouldnt have written a cliffhanger into the ending of the last episode.) the blame lies with the network(s), and the ratings system. the problem was that not enough people were watching the show to make continuing to broadcast it worthwhile for the network and their sponsors.

remember this about commercial television: its there to show you the advertisements, not the shows. with the exception of aftermarket sales, all of their money comes from selling ad space to sponsors. the shows are the way they tempt you to watch the commercials. if there arent enough people watching the ads being presented with a particular program, then the advertisers arent getting their moneys worth, and the network has to replace the show with another that will draw in enough people to watch the ads.

so please dont blame the producers. if they had their way, they would still be happily making your favorite cancelled show. (the fact that they wrote in a cliffhanger demonstrates they still had ideas for the program, and more stories to tell. i guarantee you that nobody is more frustrated at the shows cancellation than the people that wanted to tell those stories.)
