likes and dislikes... **SPOILERS*

LIKES
1.The likes are the first scene, establishing shot, long with a nice panning.
2. There's no music but the one that they listen or is playing in the film.
3. The shooting scene is well done.
4. Movie shots were 2 kind only, establishings and masters.

Dislikes

1. the story is good but when they're inside of the house, it lacks torture or drama structure that will add to the tension.
The arch and climax will have a better impact.
The film lacks of it's violent rythm.
2.It has this "funny games" feel.

Overall a good film in my opinion. I will try to catch "Sangre".

Its a 40-50 minute short film that got stretched to 90 minutes. I don't care how many establishing shots you want to take, or how bad you want to lull the viewer in order to shock them by suprise.

Its made even worse by the second half when the two main characters barely have any dialogue between each other. First half was very documentary-like, and quite enjoyable.

They didn't do a good enough job establishing the fact that someone had already offered Jesus the shotgun and money to kill their wife, they hinted at that backpack, and had some small chatter in the park. However, it felt so random how they have a gun and how they arrive to a particular house in a certain neighborhood, and how Jesus acknowledges her husband.

It might have been better if they added a scene with the white guy (that's making them do foundation work) speaking to Jesus seperately and bringing up the subject of another job, and they talk privately, and then in the evening Jesus comes back with that duffel bag.

Lastly, that DVD cover accomplishes two things 1.) Dupes people into thinking that its going to be an incredibly lame and funny action B-movie about Mexican stereotypes, and 2.) Kind of insults the filmakers about the movie they're trying to make.

I was expecting a cheesy action movie, and I get this incredibly boring movie with one cool scene. Fortunately, I happen to have enough range to enjoy both types of movies, so for a guy like me, I discovered an interesting movie by accident and a Mexican filmmaker's name that I might keep a look out for in the future. I'm Mex-American, and they did get alot of stuff right during the first half of the movie.

However, some guys are really going to be expecting a cheesy Cholo-shootout, and they're probably going to get upset.
